And for when it’s all business:
Kurt Vonnegut was an American novelist, short story writer, and essayist known for his dark humor, satirical style, and blending of science fiction with social commentary. Born here in Indianapolis, Indiana, Vonnegut’s Midwestern roots often influenced his work’s tone and themes. Kurt’s father Benard Vonnegut was an architect, and built The Estuary in 1910. Bernard also got married here in the winter of 1913. Mr. Bernanrd Vonnegut kept a love of this church and the Old Northside of Indianapolis throughout his many years spent in Indianapolis.
Kurt Vonnegut’s writing is marked by wit, compassion, and a deep skepticism of authority and technology. He remains one of America’s most influential and beloved 20th-century authors. The attached letter shows his love for this space and his deep family ties to the Estuary.
