FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What makes The Estuary a historic Indianapolis wedding venue?

The Estuary is a beautifully restored 1911 church designed by the same architectural firm that designed the Athenaeum and connected to the famous Vonnegut family of Indianapolis.

Can guests stay on-site after the wedding or event?

Yes! We offer four separate guest suites right here at the Estuary that each sleep two to four guest per suite. Your guests can stay in one location without the hassle of finding additional transportation.

Is There Parking?
Yes. The Estuary offers an event parking lot behind the property, along with street parking on Alabama Street. Additional public parking is available at Mass Ave parking garages, approximately two blocks away. For larger celebrations, hosts may also choose to encourage ride sharing or arrange guest transportation. Our team can review the best parking plan for your guest count during your venue tour.

What makes The Estuary one of the best historic wedding venues in Indianapolis?
The Estuary combines authentic 1911 architecture with the convenience couples expect from a modern Indianapolis wedding venue. Original stained glass, wood beams and historic gathering spaces create a naturally beautiful setting, while separate ceremony and reception rooms, flexible catering, wedding-party preparation spaces and four on-site overnight suites allow couples to experience the entire wedding weekend in one location.  Fill out the form below to see for yourself!

How many guests can The Estuary accommodate?

We can host small, intimate events in the chapel (up to 40 guests) which makes us a perfect small event venue! Or, for those looking to book a larger event, seat up to 120 guests in our lovely, historic Estuary Sanctuary or around tables in The Gathering Place.

Can we hold both our ceremony and reception at The Estuary?

We are a one-stop historic wedding location in Indianapolis! Host your wedding in the Chapel or Sanctuary and then head to the Reception Hall for the party! After the festivities, the wedding party or those closest to the couple can stay - on site - in one of our four private suites!

Are tables and chairs included?

Yes! We have round tables (with seating for 120) available.

Is The Estuary near downtown Indianapolis?

We are located on the Old Northside, near Mass Ave and minutes to the skyscrapers of downtown Indianapolis.

Can we choose our own caterer?
